of the Department of Building and Plant Engineering
Building services engineering is a study that deals with a number of diverse issues - including construction, plants, humanity, energy and environment - in order to create human-friendly optimal living and working environments and the cultivation of energy efficient building systems to cater for the green generation.
Thus, it is an active and rapidly expanding field of multi-disciplinary issues that requires synthetic knowledge and thought from talented people who want to secure a job position after graduation.
Humanity is the principal agent in our society of knowledge and information. We spend valuable and productive time in buildings that should be created to enhance the productivity and creativity of our work and social lives.
The practicality and interaction of facilities is an essential part of today's buildings and cities. They influence the use of our space as well as cultural activites, our routines and lifestyles. As society grows, new challenges are required for facility engineers to create new technology and improve knowledge and values.
As today's buildings and structures increase in size and functionality, so do the requirements of a higher quality of living and working spaces. The role and functions of the facilities need to be more advanced, systemized, automated, intelligent and green.
To satisfy newly emersing requirments, there is ad increasing demand for talented persons with expertise in green building and zero energy housing, design, re-modelling and renovation, environmental friendly facilities as well as in the building automation, communication technology, visualization systems visualization systems and office automation. We introduce not only a fundamental knowledge of building, plant facilities, energy systems, but also in-depth knowledge of the synthetic facility design, construction and management. We aim at producing creative, internationally competitive engineers with a degree of excellence.
Hanbat university's department of Building and Plant Engineering is the only one of its kind in a national university in Korea, with over 300 students, over 1,000 bachelors, 70 masters, and 5 Ph.D. degree alumni, and in particular 25 professionally licensed engineers. Based on this history, we are deploying activities in diverse fields such as building and plant facilities, energy industry and engineering, as well as industry foundation and public office.
Hanbat's faculty, staff and alumni will sincerely co-operate in the leadership of new facility industry and the creation of human-friendly opimal living and working environments, through the development of creative and intelligent facility engineers. In addition, we will do our best to pioneer the green generation - the fosterage of talented students interested in developing not only green buildings, but green cities, green Korea and a green world.
